At the Garden, our volunteers are vital in helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors on a regular basis and at special events. Interacting with the public and providing assistance to individuals of all ages are important tasks that make our volunteers integral to our organization and community. Our volunteers are essential to achieving our goal of instilling the sense of excitement, awe and passion for the living world in every guest who walks through our doors.

Since our founding in 1930, volunteers have greatly contributed to the success and growth of the Garden. Today, volunteers donate not only their amazing skills and talents, but thousands of hours – collectively – to help with school groups, lead tours, assist with outdoor and indoor garden maintenance, monitor and feed critters, help in the library, work in the store, greet visitors, help with crafts and games, special events, and so much more!

The Garden is a perfect place for volunteers to learn new skills, contribute to their community, form new friendships, and have fun.  Your interests, abilities, and availability will determine your volunteer placement but you will find that the Garden has choices to suit you and/or your group.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We are not currently recruiting for new volunteers at our Cleveland Botanical Garden campus. However, if you’d be interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities at our Holden Arboretum campus in Kirtland, Ohio, you can do so here.
