Virtual Program: Changing Earth – Investigating Landforms, Weathering and Erosion

Price: $130 per class

Target audience: 4th-6th grade

Duration: 1 hour

This virtual trip focuses on demonstrating the variety of processes that shape and reshape the earth’s surface. Through live stream interactive lessons, students will learn that landforms constantly develop and change as weathering and erosion forces change rocks and break them down. Students will begin to understand that people may directly affect weathering, erosion, and deposition. Students will also learn how to read a topographic map as they follow the instructor on the hiking trail.

Virtual Program: Butterflies in the Garden – Lifecycles of Living Things

Price: $130

Target audience: PK-3rd grade

Duration: 30-60 minutes

During this live, virtual experience, an instructor will guide learners as they explore the wonderous life of a butterfly and the plants it needs to survive. Students will also get a behind-the-scenes look at our butterfly program in the Costa Rica Glasshouse at the Cleveland Botanical Garden.

Virtual Program: Plant Parts – Form and Function 

Price: $130 

Target Audience: 4th-5th grade

Duration: 1 hour 

Learners join our live presenter on a journey whicfocuses on how plants survive within different habitats and the role they play as part of an ecosystemAs students are introduced to a variety of plants – some naturally grown in Ohio and some native to other parts of the world – they will explore similarities and differences, and the adaptations that help plants to survive within their ecosystems, whether they live in dense rainforests, dry deserts, or Ohio’s own parks, gardens, woods, or backyards. This program includes a behind-the-scenes look at the Working Glasshouse at the Cleveland Botanical Garden.

Virtual Program: Forest Discovery- Habitats and Ecosystems  

Price: $130 

Target Audience: PreK-12th grade

Duration: 1 hour 

Starts: April 2021 

Take your class into the great outdoors in the comfort of your classroom. Discover the forest as a diverse and interdependent community. The Holden Arboretum has over 2900 acres of forest to explore. Through this live interactive virtual hike, students will explore plants and animals to learn about different traits and characteristics which allow them to survive in the forest.

Virtual Program: Life Cycles of Plants – Growing through Changes 

Price: $130 

Target Audience: 2nd-5th grade

Duration: 1 hour 

Starts: April 2021 

Flowering plants produce seeds that sprout, grow to maturity, bloom, and produce another generation. In this interactive virtual tour, students observe the diversity of the plant life cycle stages. Follow a Holden instructor into a garden, learn about annuals and perennials, and investigate a tree’s life cycle. Observe firsthand the variation in seeds or flowers depending on the season.
