Scout Programs

COVID 19 UPDATE:

Thank you for your interest in our scout programs. Please be aware that we currently are redesigning many of our offerings for self-guided, guided and remote options. If you are interested in a specific program, please email or call our registrar at 440.602.3833 or drose@holdenfg.org. This will enable us to know of your interest and contact you as soon as we have programming ready to deliver.

We are currently taking reservations for self-guided groups who can meet the following guidelines:

· Maximum group size of 10

· Agree to social distance 6 feet from other guests and staff

· Wear face coverings when inside or closer than 6 feet outside

In the meantime, please visit our remote learning page – https://holdenarb.org/online-learning-with-hfg/ where under the For Families and Teachers section there are several resources you may find useful.

Looking for a new way for your scout troop to earn their environmental based badges?  Let the experts at the Garden help! Our talented staff of educators provides hands-on, engaging activities to help meet your troop’s specific badge requirements.  With each program, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts explore our Glasshouse and outdoor gardens to complete their plant discovery experience.

Girl Scout Programs

Girl scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. What better place to do that than at the Garden?

Daisy

Plant, Water, Grow!

While working on a Daisy Petal, explore the indoor or outdoor gardens and use these as inspiration to create a troop garden to take with you.

Brownie

Bugs and Brownies

Complete some requirements for your Bug Badge by observing insects and exploring how these tiny organisms help with the important job of pollinating plants. Find a bug and build an observation box for it. Each scout should bring their own shoe box. Girls will earn their badge to take with them at the end of the program.

Junior

Flowers-to-Go

Work on qualifying for your Flower Badge by observing flowers inside and out. Explore the indoor or outdoor gardens to see real flowers and learn about pollination. Investigate the parts of plants by dissecting a flower and then make a flower press for the petals. Girls will earn their badge to take with them at the end of the program.

PRICING: All programs $8 per scout

Boy Scout Programs

Scouting builds character, trains boys in the responsibilities of citizenship and develops personal fitness. Experience this and much more at the Garden. Please call 216.707.2841 for Boy Scout program offerings.
