The rite of spring returns!

Orchid Mania is one of Cleveland Botanical Garden's signature events.

Orchids, in all their dazzling variety, fill the Garden for four weeks that make it feel like spring has already arrived.

This year's show is all about seeing these exotic beauties in surprising ways: in a dramatic lobby display, in the naturalistic setting of the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse, and through the eye of a camera.  By popular demand, you will once again enjoy hundreds of colorful blooms in . Last year, our guests flipped for orchids in the Glasshouse: it's a tropical vacation without leaving town.

Orchid Mania has also become a showcase for new ideas in floral design. This year, the designers are exploring the modernist idea of grids, like the one you see above featuring real photos of orchids in last year's show taken by Garden member and photographer Laramie Coyote.

Orchids are candy for photographers, and Orchid Mania has always been like a candy store for photographers. This year, in appreciation of the many photographers who flock to Orchid Mania, we're partnering with The Plain Dealer and cleveland.com to present an Orchid Mania Photo Contest . Post your Orchid Mania photos to cleveland.com and enter the contest! Amateur photographers are eligible to win a 1-year family membership* including our new photography membership with special off-hours photography privileges, gift certificates for Cleveland Botanical Garden's fabulous Garden Store. The top 3 winners will also have their work published in the Plain Dealer, cleveland.com, and on display at the Garden throughout the month of April!

The popular Orchid Vendor Weekend on March 6 and 7, where you can see and purchase many of the captivating orchids on display during Orchid Mania.

There will also be a special members-only orchid sale featuring plants from the show on Sunday, March 28.
